SofterWare’s Thanksgiving Food Drive Donates Over 350 Pounds of Food to Local Food Pantry

Thanksgiving is that special holiday when we look back on the past year and give thanks for all the people and things in our life for which we are grateful. Here at SofterWare, we want to help ensure that everyone has a reason to be thankful this holiday season! That’s why we made it our goal to donate over 350 pounds of food to the local Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry in Hatboro, PA.

Posters and emails began alerting our staff in October to the food drive operation. Soon, the strategically placed bins and boxes around SofterWare began to fill up! Canned veggies, fruit juices, paper towels, and more were filling our donation boxes to the brim—and we couldn’t have been happier about it!

On Thursday, November 20th, 2014, a small group of SofterWare do-gooders packed up all the food raised and drove it to the Loaves and Fishes Pantry. With the help of our employees (and one questionably sturdy wagon) the food was unloaded and delivered to some very happy church organizers.

Poverty and hunger can strike anywhere, anytime. We are thankful this holiday season that our company was able to give back to the community, but the fight is not over. If you would like to donate to your local food bank, but are not sure where to begin, please visit to find your closest branch.

Consider donating nonperishables, such as canned goods, pasta, and peanut butter. Food banks are also in need of other items such as paper towels, toothpaste/toothbrushes, and soap. There is plenty you can do to ensure your community has a happy and healthy holiday season, and thereafter!
